Roxanee and Kathy, You make them uncomfortable by using the Disciplinary Action Process – you “write them up.” It is something that I really didn’t want to do, but when I started to use it my life changed. I was no longer mad – my life as a manager became very matter-of-fact: “you didn’t do this, here are the consequences.” If you have the Retail Mastery System there is a whole section on it in the Staff Development Module. Good Luck!
Thanks! Do you think it’s possible for you to give this kind of reference of the different sections of the RMS when you do your videos? It helps. Thanks!
The part that I stumble on is: How to make them feel uncomfortable not doing what I ask them to do. I train and I certainly model the behavior I want them to display. I compliment what is done right, but it is a constant battle getting them to CONSISTENTLY do as they know they should. I believe that that leaves me with how to make them uncomfortable. Give them a day off without pay to contemplate?
agree!!!
Thanks for the comment, Kathy!
