Hey, it’s Bob. And I am here at the Independent Garden Center Show. And in this episode of Real Retail TV, I’m going to talk about the value of trade shows.
I talk with people all the time who find reasons not to go to shows. They can’t afford it. They can find things online. It’s too far away. They can’t leave their families. They can’t leave their homes. And although sometimes it’s true– and I do know some people who go to too many shows. They’re too dependent on finding new stuff and not as dependent on education as they could or should be.
I’m just looking at you and saying, get to the shows. Get the inspiration. Do the education.
I talked to somebody after my break out here. I was the keynote speaker, and then after my breakout, somebody said, wow. My mind has grown. My mind has been blown. And that’s what you want to get out of a show. You want to take advantage of the education. You want to look around. You want to walk around. You want inspiration. And you never know when you’re going to find something great.
I was talking to somebody from Moore Consulting, and they’ve got a really cool thing here, a program that they’re doing with new homeowners. And they’re sending out gift certificates. Now, this may not be for you, but it may be for you. And the point is until you get out into the world, until you get to the show, you’re never going to get the inspiration that will bring you to the greatness that you deserve.
