Hey Bob and Susan, I’ve been following you and implementing a good bit of what I’ve learned from you during much of my 17 years in business. Five years ago, I moved from my mall location to a spot 1/2 mile down the street from where we had been for 12 years. I signed a 5 year lease and knew that, in 5 years I will have either sold or closed my shop to retire. In the last 2 years, we’ve been very transparent with our customers and followers about “the plan”. In the last 6 months, we shared our timeline for moving on and reminded everyone that this was “the plan” all along. Our sales had actually gone up and we were doing well until mid-March when all our non-essential businesses were required to close temporarily. I felt like you were talking directly to me in this video . . . having your own business is not always easy or fun or fulfilling, but I’ve loved what I’ve done and I’m going to really miss the people we’ve met and will hang onto the sweet memories we’ve made along the way. I’ve been reassuring customers that we will “reopen” before we “close” at the end of our lease in a couple months.
Thanks for the help and encouragement thru the years. Thanks for caring and pouring yourselves into our lives and giving us a reason to “retail on”.
Deb,
It’s sounds like you are happy you did it and are at peace with it ending. You couldn’t write the script any better.
Bob
Thank you for sharing your passion and heart. I’m standing on both sides of the line with my business. It’s fairly new and I have an almost one year old who I ha e thoroughly enjoyed being home with. How do you know what the right thing to do is. I know God will show me in his time. Til then I will press on til I’m sure what to do.
Paula,
Listen to your heart.
Bob
