This Episode: Recession-Proof Your Retail Business
Recently there has been a lot of uncertainty and discussion around a possible recession. I am here to tell you that I have personally lived through 4 recessions while owning a retail business. An important thing to remember is that just because there is a recession, it does not mean that it will have a huge impact on your business.
I encourage you to be proactive. Go forward with courage, do more with the customers you have, train your staff to sell, and remember this, more millionaires were created during the Great Depression than any other time in history! You’ve got this!
In difficult times you can also start a successful business. While we can’t control whether a recession will happen, you explained that there are some things you can do to increase your chances of survival.
We opened just prior to the 2008 recession and saw it coming early to our area. All you have communicated here is what we learned the hard way (hadn’t heard of the Negans yet or WhizBang). Determination and grit only go so far. Having a strategy, a mind-set, back-up plans, and executing with an exceptional team works!!!
