This Episode: What’s Your Motivation
One key factor in running a successful business is motivation. In today’s Real Retail TV, I’m going to share what motivates me with you, because I believe it will help you gain clarity on what motivates you.
I’d love to hear what your primary motivation is! Please, share it in the comments section below.
I am also interested in learning more about exit strategy!
Kathy,
Keep you eye out, there may be an exit strategy episode soon.
Bob
Good question! Thanks, Bob. I’ve always been driven by teaching, helping and inspiring. Currently I run a business in which the main product isn’t one I care much about. I’m obliged to sell these things bc of an agreement I made (in hindsight, not a smart move) 8 years ago. It’s draining me, and it’s a chore to muster the energy every day to just fulfill the obligation. It consumes most of my energy, leaving me with little to do what I’m really good at: teaching, helping and inspiring, but with a different product! So now I’m working on selling my business. But now I have to accept the fact that I need to do more work before I can make the profit I need. So to answer the question: I’m motivated by getting out so I can be motivated by doing what I love! Finally! Thanks again, Bob, for the prompt.
Kate,
It may be easier, and a lot more profitable, to have a “Retirement Sale.” Don’t do it yourself, hire Bob Nelson to help you and you’ll do very well with it. And get out a lot sooner. http://www.askbobnelson.com Good luck!
Hi Bob and Susan. I attended the virtual summit last week. Thank you for that. The virtual made it possible for me to attend. One of the topics discussed by a coach was exit strategy. Is that a topic that could find it’s way into your RMS? Also intrigued by Lee Phillips talk. I’d call him immediately except for the fact that he is in the US and I am in Canada. Are there any tips you can give all of your “foreign” 🙂 retailers on finding a guerilla accountant of our very own?
Elaine,
See my note to Kate about Bob Nelson if you want to liquidate. Unfortunately I don’t have a Canadian guerilla accountant I can recommend.
