This Episode: 3 Local Legends Serving Up Retail Lessons
It’s the perfect time of the year to take a stroll down to your local Farmer’s Market, and you might be surprised by the lessons you learn from the different vendors. In this episode of Real Retail TV, I highlight 3 local farmers who are doing things right when it comes to keeping great hours, bundling products, and sampling to sell. Take these lessons and use them in your store to make more money!
Are you currently using any of these methods in your store? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
Under normal circumstances we use all 3 strategies. However, due to issues beyond our control, we have had to reduce hours and it has made a difference. Until our staff returns to 100%, we are promoting curbside pick-up, phone orders, email orders to pick up at a time when we can have someone stay late, etc. Convert lemons into lemonade to the best of your ability and promote the heck out of it!
Keep on making lemonade, Carroll!
Three quick ideas. I already stay open late on many days. Most stores in my area are closed, and I’m still here! While I don’t usually do much business, I have on occasion had a nice sale. You never know. Plus the bundling idea is a great idea! Reminds me of many years ago when I sold bookmarks for 10 cents each. A sales rep told me to price them at “buy 10 get ONE FREE.” Know how many purchased 10 to get the free one? ALMOST EVERYONE who purchased one. Great idea.
Thanks for the comment, Wendy. I love the bookmark story!
