JT Retail Consulting
Jeremy Truxillo, a third-generation retailer, brings 14 years of retail experience and a forward-thinking approach to help small retailers thrive in an ever-changing climate.
Jeremy comes from a family of successful retailers. He grew up in his grandfather’s grocery store and his father’s jewelry store learning the art of customer service at a young age. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisiana, he took a small break from retail but was drawn back. In 2004 Jeremy and his wife bought a failing hobby store with less than $30,000 in annual sales and grew it into an award-winning seven figure company. By providing superior service and cutting-edge marketing, his store has survived one of the worst economies in the regions history while all local competitors have not.
Currently, Jeremy with the help of his wife, Melissa, still owns and operates Big Boy Toys and Hobbies and the Discover Store inside the Lafayette Science Museum. He also serves as an executive board member for the National Retail Hobby Store Association (NRHSA). Having built a successful store in a challenging, ultra-competitive, and low margin industry, he knows and understands the challenges small retailers face daily. His love of retail motivates him to help other retailers transform their stores from an unprofitable hobby into a profit driven business. He will provide proven tools and insight to help fellow store owners make more money, sleep better, and have a life outside of their store.
