Bonnie Brickman’s passion for training and coaching sets her apart in the world of retail. There are few things she enjoys more than mentoring and molding her staff, other salespeople, store managers & owners–educating them on the development of customer relationships, store inventory, merchandising and sharing the valuable best practices she’s learned throughout her career. Additionally, Bonnie engages with her vast professional networks, helping colleagues learn to apply their own style to their businesses.

Being bitten by the retail bug at an early age. She began working in retail as a teenager and understands the hard work, dedication and passion it means to be an independent retailer and business owner. Bonnie wants to share her invaluable business knowledge and secrets of her success with her building blocks with Beacon Retail Coaching.

With over 35 years of experience with major big box and small retailers, she was ready to start her own business. Bonnie opened the original Guys & Co. store in downtown Deerfield in 2008 to create a one-stop-shop for families on the North Shore to dress their boys for all occasions. She built it from the ground up, adding her own personal touches, like galvanized piping to create unique display racks.

Taking her years of experience of her high level of customer service & selling skills along with merchandising, inventory and working with manufacturers she has learned and implemented strategies to grow her business to become the top boys clothing retailer in the Chicago area. When men started dropping in, she diversified her offering and moved into a bigger space in Highland Park.

Bonnie combines her deep retail experience with a strong foundation in both Fashion and Business Education. Along with her Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising from Bradley University, she is also graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, has a Certificate of Entrepreneurship from City Colleges of Chicago and is a WhizBang! Certified Coach.
